SuperLega, another success in three sets, this time in Taranto

Itas Trentino men's team closes the first week of 2024 by securing another three-set victory, this time in an away match. After the decisive 3-0 win at home against Verona on Wednesday evening, the Italian Champions hit the target at PalaMazzola in Taranto, achieving the twelfth success in thirteen games played in the SuperLega Credem Banca 2023/24 regular season, and simultaneously, the fifth consecutive match without dropping a set to the opponents. Three crucial points to maintain the solitary lead in the standings.
The performance on the court against Gioiella Prisma, second to last in the standings, may have been less consistent than those recently expressed, but in the end, it proved practical and effective. The home team tried to threaten the Italian champions several times, recovering from significant disadvantages in the first and third sets and starting strong in the second. However, Trento never lost clarity, demonstrated greater effectiveness at the net with attacks (58%) and blocks, and closed each set without too much difficulty. The middle blockers were outstanding: 3 blocks and 83% in the first half for Kozamernik, a block and a perfect 100% (8 out of 8!) for captain Marko Podrascanin. The high ball trio also made a significant contribution: 14 points for Rychlicki, unstoppable in the first set and a half, 10 for Lavia (key player in the decisive acceleration in the second set, the only one where the Apulians were ahead), and 9 for Michieletto, named MVP thanks to a 50% success rate in attack, a block, and an ace.
