Operation "SuperFinal" begins on Friday: Trentino Itas flies to Antalya

Operation ‘SuperFinal’ of the 2024 CEV Champions League officially kicks off for Trentino Itas on Friday, May 3. At around 9.30 am, the yellow-blue line-up will gather at the ilT quotidiano Arena to set off for Antalya, a destination that will be reached by plane on a charter flight that will leave from Villafranca (Verona). Trentino Volley will thus set foot in Turkey for the eighth time in its history, two years and three months after the last occasion (26 January 2022 - success in three sets in Istanbul against Fenerbahce), for what will be the most important and conclusive appointment of the 2023/24 season. The most significant precedent in this nation remains that of 26 March 2019, when, in Istanbul, the Gialloblù won the CEV Cup thanks to a tie-break victory against Galatasaray. The debut on Turkish soil, on the other hand, took place nineteen and a half years ago, on 15 December 2004, when the at the time Itas Diatec Trentino played in Ankara the return leg of the CEV Cup round of 16, losing 1-3 and therefore being eliminated from the competition.
The Trentino group will remain in Antalya until Monday morning, returning to Trento in the early afternoon of the same day. The first contact with the Sports Hall, the ten-thousand-seat facility in which the Club from via Trener will play for the first time in its history, will not take place until early Saturday afternoon. On Friday, after arriving in Turkey, the team will carry out a simple weights session in the sports facility next to the hotel where they will stay for all three days.
For this occasion, coach Fabio Soli will have at his disposal all fifteen players who made up the roster in the final part of the season: setters Acquarone, Garcia, and Sbertoli, opposite players Nelli and Rychlicki, spikers Cavuto, Lavia, Magalini, and Michieletto, middle blockers Berger, D'Heer, Kozamernik, and Podrascanin, and liberos Laurenzano and Pace. The full technical, medical, and management staff will also be there.
During their stay in Turkey, the players will carry out a number of activities in close contact with the CEV Communication Management, which has scheduled a number of dedicated appointments: a photo shoot and a press conference (scheduled for Saturday between 9.30 and 10 am Italian time) to be attended by coach Fabio Soli and captain Marko Podrascanin.
