Trentino Itas is European champion for the fourth time!

On Europe's roof once again flies the yellow-blue flag, that of Trentino Volley! After Prague, Lodz, and Bolzano there is another place that is now rightfully in the hearts of fans and in the glorious 24-year history of Trentino Volley. It is Antalya, the Turkish metropolis overlooking the Mediterranean Sea, where Sunday afternoon the yellow-blue Club once again won the title of European Champion.
After unsuccessful attempts in Krakow in 2016, Verona in 2021 and Ljubljana in 2022, the continental poker was finally and deservedly served on the table: thirteen years after the last time (in Alto Adige at the end of March 2011), Trento secured the CEV Champions League, overcoming the Poles of Jastrzebski Wegiel in a Final played in an exceptional way and closed in just three sets, without leaving the opponents any kind of reply in any set. The icing on the cake of a season that has given Trentino Itas mixed emotions, but that has always seen Soli's team among the absolute protagonists; after the defeats suffered in the last month against Monza and Milan in the Play Offs, the yellow-blue team has been able to rise like a phoenix, regaining its entire starting line-up and consequently the shine of the best days.
This was confirmed by the match itself, conducted from the start with the right attitude and with a block-defence system that gradually took more and more certainty away from the Poles. After being surprised by Trentino Volley's vigorous start, Jastrzebski tried several times to get up the slope, but every time they did so they found the hands of the opponents to stop them, as the 13 winning blocks, ten by the middle pair Podrascanin (his was the last point: block on Syzmura) and Kozamernik, well illustrate. Meanwhile, Michieletto (best scorer with 15 points and 54% in attack, two aces and a block), Rychlicki (15 with 54%), and Lavia, who was exceptional on his return in guaranteeing winning balls (11) and reactive in reception, all scored in attack.

Below is the scoreboard of the 2024 CEV Champions League Final played Sunday afternoon at the Antalya Sports Hall.
