2024 Fivb Club World Championship in Uberlandia (Brazil) from December 10 to 15

The 2024/25 season calendar is enriched with another prestigious international commitment for Trentino Volley. As previously announced, the yellow-blue club will participate in the 2024 Club World Championship, scheduled to be held in Uberlandia, Brazil (a city with over 600,000 inhabitants in the state of Minas Gerais), from December 10 to 15, thanks to their victory in the CEV Champions League last May in Antalya.
Today, FIVB officially announced the dates, location, and participating teams, confirming Trentino Volley among the teams that will compete in the annual global event. For the eleventh time in its history, the Club from via del Brennero will participate in the tournament, which it has won more than any other team: five times overall; four consecutively between 2009 and 2012, and again in 2018.
Being in Brazil will allow the yellow-blue team to chase their sixth world title, aiming to represent the Italian SuperLega in the best way possible, while also bringing the name of Trentino once again to the world stage. The roster of the eight teams eligible to compete in the tournament includes the Brazilian sides Sada Cruzeiro (winners of the 2024 South American Championship) and Praia Clube (host club), the Iranian teams Foolad Sirjan and Shahdab Yazd (Asian Champions and Runners-up, respectively), Cucine Lube Civitanova, stepping in for Poland’s Jastrzębski Węgiel (Champions League runners-up who withdrew), Argentina’s Ciudad Voley (South American Championship runners-up), and Egypt’s Al Ahly (reigning African Champions).
The format of the World Championship will remain unchanged compared to the previous ten appearances by Trentino. The teams will first compete in a group stage, divided into two pools. The top two teams from each group (which will follow the Round Robin format from December 10 to 13) will advance to the semifinals and finals, scheduled for December 14 and 15. The composition of the pools and the match schedule will be announced in the coming days.
During their stay in Brazil for the 2024 Club World Championship, Itas Trentino was scheduled to play a home match in the 2024/25 SuperLega Credem Banca regular season: on December 15 against Cisterna, a match that will be postponed.
