Cisterna Volley-Itas Trentino 3-1, the match #2 report

Match recap of Game 2 Itas Trentino returned to Cisterna di Latina 168 days after their regular season game, making only one change from the lineup seen in the first match of the series played eight days ago: Sbertoli as setter, Rychlicki as opposite, Lavia and Michieletto as outside hitters, Bartha (replacing Kozamernik) and Flavio as middle blockers, and Laurenzano as libero. Cisterna Volley responded with Baranowicz as setter, Faure as opposite (named MVP of SuperLega in February before the match), Ramon and Bayram as outside hitters, Mazzone and Nedeljkovic as middle blockers, and Pace as libero.
The home team immediately tried to push with their serves, but Trentino quickly responded with strong blocking (4-3). Cisterna attempted to break away with Mazzone (counterattack and block for 7-9), but the yellow-blues answered with Flavio and Michieletto (11-11). In the middle of the set, the two teams were neck and neck (15-15 and 18-18), before two aces by the hosts broke the tie: Bayram for 19-20 and Nedeljkovic for 20-22. Soli called a timeout; Itas Trentino held on until 21-22, but two break points from the Lazio team sealed the set at 21-25, with Mazzone and Ramon finishing it off.
Lavia's serves shook up the yellow-blues at the start of the second set, giving them their first double lead of the evening (9-7), but Cisterna quickly responded with Mazzone again. The two teams engaged in another exchange of points (11-11, 15-15, and 17-17), before Mazzone and Nedeljkovic (with another winning serve) took control (18-21). Trentino, with Michieletto, fought back to level the score at 22, before Cisterna delivered another blow, aided by a net error from Sbertoli (22-24). It wasn’t over, though, as the European Champions saved three set points (24-24 and 25-25), with Michieletto leading the charge, before finally losing the set 25-27, thanks to a winning net touch from Bayram, who won the net battle against Sbertoli.
After switching sides, Itas Trentino starts strong (7-3), capitalizing on an effective offensive and counterattacking performance from Rychlicki and Michieletto. Falasca calls a timeout at 9-5 for the yellow-blue, and upon resumption, his team responds well. Led by Faure, Cisterna quickly levels the score at 12, also benefiting from a couple of unforced errors by the visitors. Trento remains unfazed, and with Kozamernik (who replaced Bartha starting from the second set) and Rychlicki, they rebuild a promising lead (19-15). This time, Cisterna is unable to close the gap, as the Slovenian middle blocker dominates at the net with key blocks and attacks, sealing the set at 25-19 and keeping Trento in contention.
The fourth set turns into a point-for-point battle. Trentino gets off to a better start (5-3), but Cisterna immediately responds, tying the score at 6 and pulling ahead (8-6) thanks to a strong service run by Ramon. Soli calls a timeout, and upon resumption, Lavia immediately equalizes at 8-8. The set remains tightly contested up to 12-12, but Cisterna makes a decisive push with Mazzone’s blocks (13-16). Two aces by Michieletto bring Trento back into the game (20-20). Once again, the set is decided in extra points; on the second opportunity, Bayram blocks Sbertoli to clinch the set for Cisterna, securing a 1-1 tie in the series.
