Itas Trentino alreday on fire in the midweek charity test match in Rovereto

The midweek test match in Rovereto, the seventh of the pre-season preparation, brings a comeback victory for the men's Itas Trentino team. This evening, at the Palazzetto dello Sport della Città della Quercia, the Italian Champions, still missing four key players (Michieletto, Sbertoli, Gabi Garcia, and Lavia) and with Flavio having just arrived and therefore rested, beat Gruppo Consoli Sferc Brescia from Serie A2 league 3-1 in a friendly match organized for charity. The more than five hundred spectators who attended allowed a considerable sum to be collected, which will be entirely donated to the families of children affected by oncological and hematological diseases being treated at the Trento Hospital. At the same time, they were also able to admire a growing performance from the Gialloblù team, who appeared to be already in good shape after a settling-in first set.
Particularly pleasing was the determination and the desire to create the first collective game mechanisms and improve understanding, which grew considerably throughout the match, allowing the newcomers Faure (best scorer with 16 points, including five on serve), Torwie (10 points with 78% in the first half, two aces, and one block), and Bartha (11 points, with three blocks and two winning serves) to show off alongside the usual Ramon (10), who was already effective in the previous joint training sessions with Mantova and Dachau.
"Beyond the victory, which is always pleasing, I saw the team grow during the match," explained coach Marcelo Mendez at the end of the match. “We didn't start well: we struggled to express ourselves at the start, but then we progressively increased the quality of our game. It was a great evening where I gathered many indications on where I will need to work with the players in the coming weeks."
The Argentinian coach will be officially presented to the press on Tuesday, October 2nd, at 10:30 am at the Palazzo della Provincia Autonoma di Trento in Piazza Dante. In the afternoon of the same day, he will lead the third-to-last training session of this period (the other two are scheduled for Friday before an entire rest weekend). The next match for Itas Trentino is scheduled in seven days: Wednesday, October 8th, at 7:00 pm at the PalaRomare in Schio against Padova for the 3rd "Trofeo Città di Schio" (Schio City Trophy).
