The ENERGY TI Diatec Trentino has guaranteed the first leg of the Challenge Round of 2015 CEV Cup, tie breaking after nearly two hours of battle, and defeating the Champions of Belgium's Knack Roeselare, at the PalaTrento 3-2. The Yellow-Blues have redeemed the setback record last Sunday night in Civitanova Marche, against Lube, and took the first step towards the semi-finals of the continental tournament. To remove the second last act of the board of the European demonstration team, Radostin Stoytchev, has to also win the tie-break, that is scheduled in six days in Belgium; Birarelli and his teammates had a small but significant advantage, playing remarkably well in the first part of the match, unaware of their great job between the third and fourth set. The Roeselare still had faith, even when they were under 16-13 in the third set and 12-7 in the fourth, but finally had to yield to the Yellow-Blues, who beat the tie break with Kaziyski (16 points with 52% in the grid), and with Lanza (best scorer ‘in-house’ with 22 points) and the central pair Birarelli-Solé, and their three blocks with an excellent attack percentage (67% for ‘The captain’, and 69% for ‘Argentinian’ ). The former player of Perugia, Tuerlinckx, who scored 27 times with four blocks and Verhanneman (17).
