Although with extraordinary tenacity, fighting spirit and the strong character of ENERGY TI Diatec Trentino the dream of winning the 2015 CEV Cup vanishes towards the end of the match. The continental trophy goes to Dinamo Moscow thanks to a victory of 15-12 in the golden set; applauses remain for Trentino Volley even from the Russian public for having accomplished this epic undertaking of completely trying to overturn the odds which was all in favor of the hosts, after the defeat of Tuesday night at PalaTrento, with bitterness of having the title slightly within reach only to lose it the last minute.
With the same determination and stubbornness, a distinctive feature of the current season of the yellow-blues, Stoytchev’s team has in fact scored 3-1 in the official match, but it carried Moscow to the golden set after having offered them numerous hard blows. The Marichev team catch their breath, thanks to an extraordinary block (19 points headed into this single skill of Captain Birarelli 9) and to the excellent relationship that the defense added to it, which allowed many breakpoint situations regularly exploited between the second and fourth period. In the most difficult moment, however, Dinamo has been able to show the character that was shown four days earlier, and has secured the 2015 CEV Cup of the golden set (which Moscow said not again as it happened on January 23th, 2013) leaning on physicality and completeness of Kruglov, eventually he was elected MVP of the tournament (26 points with five blocks tonight).
Trentino Volley returns home full of bitter disappointments for the results but also full of pride of those who tried up till the end, as they had promised on the eve day; the 80% in attack from Birarelli, the 24 points from Lanza with 55% in the network, the proof of Colaci generous second line and that of Zygadlo in directing, as well as Kaziyski serves  (3 aces and only two errors) are fixed points from which to start in view of the upcoming championship playoffs.
