PalaTrento has rejected the attempted assault of Sir Safety Perugia in the first game of the semifinal playoffs Super League UnipolSai 2015. After a year of absence, Diatec Trentino started in the best way its return, securing the 1-0 in the three matches series, in the penultimate round of the Champions League. However, the hosts had to play their best volleyball and show their strong character to score the advantage point, which will give the team of Stoytchev the first chance to access the championship final, playing the match on Tuesday in Umbria during game 2.
Precisely for this reason, the 3-1 of today was even more significant of the three previous seasonal victories against Perugia, because many times the guests were ruling the match but could not place the decisive ball: after the first set, won for 31-29 in advantage and led by a super Atanasijevic, and at the end of the third period with about 21-17 ahead. In the most difficult moment of its performance, however, Trento has found character and effectiveness at the block (scored 16 times with 4 winning blocks in each period) and incredibly, was able to reverse the situation of that fraction with a partial of 8- 2 (25-23).  With a lot of enthusiasm the team won also the fourth set, in a manner similar to what happened in the second.
A decisive game was played from Birarelli and Solé at the block (each of them scored six times in this skill), with the Argentine voted MVP for the great contribution made in the first half (69%) and in service (2 aces). For the hosts we have also to highlight the 19 points of Lanza (with two aces and a block over 53% in attack) and the clear direction of Zygadlo. Perugia tried really hard but in the end it paid its reliance of Atanasijevic: very well in the first and third sets, bad in the second and not well served from De Cecco in the fourth.
