Trento, April 13th, 2015
The championship playoffs starts on Wednesday at PalaTrento, which will be the 13th consecutive participation of Trentino Volley (in a total of fifteen seasons) playing against Molfetta for the series of the quarter-final. In the twelve previous occasions, with seven circumstances Diatec Trentino was able to overcome the first round: in the 2005/06 season, defeating Modena for 2-1, in 2007/08 when they won again against Modena with 2-0, in 2008/09 when they defeated Vibo in three games (3-0), in the 2009/10, and when they had the best of Verona in three games (3-0), in 2010/11 when they won San Giustino (3- 0), in the 2011/12 when they won the Gironcino three and on Easter weekend at PalaTrento against Rome and the San Giustino (Dual 3-0) and in the 2012/13 when they defeated Vibo Valentia in two actual matches (three for the series that started since 1-0). In all other cases of defeats in the first round, against Modena (2002/03 and 2013/14 of five matches in two games), Perugia (in four games after winning the regular season), Piacenza (in 2004/05 five races) and Cuneo (2006/07, in three races). The yellow-blues will persuit any final eighth in the last nine matches; Treviso only between 2001 and 2007 had been able to do better with a streak of eight games.
Excluding the unfortunate presence of last season with two games and two defeats, and with every playoffs in which they took part in, Trentino Volley has always won at least a game; in nine cases out of eleven in the first match held: it happened at home with Perugia 3-2 in 2004, in Piacenza 3-1 in 2005, 3-2 in 2007 in Cuneo, at PalaTrento against Modena (3-0) in 2008, always at home with Vibo (3-2) in 2009, with Verona (3-0) in 2010, against San Giustino in 2011, in 2012 (3-0 to PalaTrento) and Vibo Valentia in 2013.
