The National Team’s season begins with a double success for 3-1 against Argentina and Japan in Vesuvio Cup played during the weekend at PalaBarbuto of Naples. The players of Trentino Volley, now committed to the Coach Gianlorenzo Blengini, were immediately under the spotlight . The new opppsite Luca Vettori was in fact named best Italian scorer in both matches by scoring 18 points (61% in attack and 1 ace) on Saturday evening against Argentina and 15 (43% at net and 2 aces) today against Japan. Also Simone Gianelli gave positive contributions particularly at block (8 points against the Argentinians with 6 blocks and against the Japanese with 2 aces and 2 blocks in addition) and Lanza who scored 13 points against Argentina (54%) and 8 against Japan (43%, a block and an ace). Antonov played less, anyway at report six times in two matches. Tiziano Mazzone had to postpone his debut in the Senior National Team and did enter the court on this occasion.
Next weekend (June 2nd to 4th) the Italian debut in 2017 World League in Pesaro, where it will face Iran, Poland and Brazil of Eder.
