Thanks to their success last night in Puglia, the ENERGY TI Diatec Trentino will progress to the Super League PlayOff for the semifinals in UnipolSai 2015.
The opening match will take place Saturday, April 25th at PalaTrento (against Verona or Perugia, depending on who come off the qualification in the other quarter in the top of the board) will be the eighth semi-final playoff ever in the fifteen years for the yellow-blues, the seventh in the last eight seasons. This goal was earlier centered in the seasons during 2005/06, 2007/08, 2008/09, 2009/10, 2010/11, 2011/12 and 2012/13 in the first two cases the qualification came eliminating Modena; in three games (2-1) in 2006, two in 2008; in the third and the last to give way to Diatec Trentino was Vibo Valentia (folded twice in the series 3-0), in the fourth Verona (also 3-0), fifth in San Giustino (3-0), while the sixth to surrender was the couple San Giustino-Roma 3-0 with a double.
In six circumstances the Trentino Volley later conquered the pass to the final: it happened in the playoffs in 2008, when they overcame two matches in the M. Roma Volley, in 2009, where they eliminated Cuneo from the title match with three wins in as many games, in 2010 surpassing Macerata 3-1, and in 2011 surpassing Modena after five-fought match (3-2) and 2012 Latina bending in two matches (Dual 3-0) and in 2013 surpassing Cuneo 3-0. In 2006 however the Trentino adventure ended there at the hands of Sisley Treviso, who were victorious in four matches.
Overall, in the semifinals of the playoffs, Trentino played twenty-two matches, winning sixteen: seven away (two to Macerata and Cuneo, one in Treviso, Rome, Frosinone) and eight at ‘home’ games against Latina, Rome, Macerata, three times with Cuneo and three times with Modena.
