After the rescheduled match on Thursday evening against Latina, Diatec Trentino is already ready to get back on the field for a regular season’s match of 2016/17 Superlega UnipolSai. Tomorrow night, October Saturday 29th at 6.15 p.m., the team from Trento is going to play in the big match of the sixth day of championship against Sir Safety Conad Perugia at PalaTrento. Live match broadcast on RAI Sport 1 and Radio Dolomiti.
DIATEC TRENTINO The success against Top Volley allowed the yellow-blue team to restart in the best way possible the path they interrupted two weeks ago on the occasion of 2016 World Club Championship. Thanks to the three points conquered on Thursday evening, Lanza and his team-mates will be still unbeaten as they are going to face Sir Safety Conad Perugia (four victories out of four matches they played) and their opponents will have only a two point advantage over them. However, Sir Safety Perugia has played a game more than the team trained by Angelo Lorenzetti.
“In this period the time-table schedules a match that is even more difficult than the previous one but this task offers us two important chances that we want to exploit as far as possible – explained the coach of Diatec Trentino presenting the match -. In fact, we can try to conquer important points in order to climb the current ranking right before our supporters’ eyes and at the same time to make progress for what concerns our game against such a strong team as Perugia. In the recent past, for example against Kazan, we experienced several problems in expressing ourselves at high levels and against such strong opponents; so, I would like my team to show it has grown also from this point of view”.
The coach will be able to count on all the actual fourteen players and will decide on his own whether to confirm the last sextet, which has been seen in action versus Latina or to replace some player, in order to make Lanza, Stokr and Van de Voorde play. The Czech hammer himself, if he will be given the possibiliy to enter the field, would award 150 games with Trentino Volley, of which he is already the fourth all time bomber with 2.111 personal scored points.
For Urnaut, who is in a moment of excellent form, it will instead be the opportunity to play the 50th game with Diatec Trentino. On Saturday night, the yellow-blue club will play the 671st official match of its history (447 wins and 203 defeats).
RIVALS Sir Safety Conad Perugia comes to PalaTrento for the first direct match of the season against another big team, with already 5 wins on 5 played matches behind. The two point lost versus Ravenna and Vibo Valentia have not, however, allowed the team of coach Slobodan Kovac to keep up to Civitanova and Modena, respectively two points ahead.
The tomorrow match will be so raffling an important prize, between two teams which are chasing the first position. The black-red team has been built to win the tournament, but in this first part of the season must play without Atanasijevic. With the Serbian opposite still in the box due to an injury, moving Zaytsev in the spiker role has been temporally postponed. For the moment Zaytsev, fourth bomber of the tournament, in facts, plays in both spiker and opposite role, giving the ex Padova Bergerthe excellent opportunity to show himself. At the center of net the arrival of Podrascanin (second blocker of the tournament) offered even greater quality and experience. But the tomorrow evening match is particularly expected expecially for the return in Trento of three unforgettable ex players: after winning league titles, Champions League, Italian Cup and Club World Cup with the yellow-blue team, this summer the libero Bari, the middle-blocker Emanuele Birarelli and the spiker Dore Della Lunga have found each other again in the same team, Perugia in this case. To better understand how they have been important for Diatec Trentino, just remember that they now occupy three of the top five places for Diatec Trentino in the presences ranking: 345 for Birarelli (first position), 339 for Bari (second position) and 215 for Della Lunga (fifth position).
PRECEDENTS The history of the competitions is recent but strong. Although the two teams have been confronting each other since season 2013/2014, they played 13 matches, most of them in the Italian Cup and in the Championship Play Off. The balance sheet is favorable for the yellow-blue team (10-3) and in the 7 matches played at PalaTrento, the home team won 6 times, the last one on January 23th 2016 in the 14th turn of last regular season (3-0 against Urnaut mvp). Sir Safety is a society from Bastia Umbria, moved then to Perugia when it played in A2 League, this way it wasn’t attributable to the partnership RPA-LugiBacchi.it that played in the Umbrian capital between 2002 and 2010 and that Trento confronted 21 times, winning 12 times.
REFEREES The match will be directed by the couple Daniele Rapisarda (from Udine, in the Super League since 2002 and international referee since 2011) and Mauro Carlo Goitre (from Turin, in the Super League since 2008 and international referee since 2016). The last precedent of Rapisarda, at the fifth seasonal match, with Trentino Volley was on March 10th (victory 3-0 against Molfetta) and the last precedent of Goitre, at the third match of the season, with Trentino Volley was on February 3rd (defeat at home against Ravenna).
TV, RADIO AND INTERNET The match will be a global media event, live streaming at the same time on TV, radio and The Internet. It will be broadcasted by RAI Sport 1, a channel on the digital terrestrial platform and satellite platform Sky on the channel 227, commented by Maurizio Colantoni and Andrea Lucchetta; the match will be also released on the Internet through video and audio streaming at www.raisport.ai.it/dl/raisport/multimedia/diretta.html and will be intercontinentally displayed (more than thirty countries will be connected) thanks to the scheduled liv broadcasts by Sportsklub, Sky Mexico, SportMax, Telesports, Ote and Img. It will be as always broadcasted live coverage also by Radio Dolomiti, radio partner of Trentino Volley, from 6 p.m. All the frequencies to listen the regional network are available on the home page of the Club’s website, www.trentinovolley.it, while at www.radiodolomiti.com you will be able to listen to the radio comments in streaming on the “On Air” section. The whole deferred coverage of the match will be broadcasted in TV on Monday October the 31st at 9.30 p.m. on RTTR, tv partner of via Trener’ s Club , right after the magazine “RTTR Volley” and broadcasted another time that same day at midnight. Eventually, on the Internet the updates will be run by the web site of the Volleyball league serie A (www.legavolley.it) and by www.trentinovolley.it and will be a available on the Yellow-blue’s Social Networks (www.trentinovolley.it/facebook and www.trentinovolley.it/twitter).
MERCHANDISING AND CAVIT DAY PalaTrento is already Sold out 24 hours before the beginning of the match. On Saturday its cashes will be available from 5.30 p.m., only for the retirements of the credits, meanwhile at 5 p.m. the entries will be open. Inside the establishment, behind the southern tribune, the supporters will find the renewed Yellow-blue merchandising point; a big range of Trentino Volley’s items are on sale. In this occasion called “Cavit Day”, Trentino Volley and Cavit – since years official sponsor of the Italian Champions – have created a special event to make nicer the spectators’ experience in the establishment of Via Fersina.
