The toast at Bar Pasi with the supporters and the following gala dinner of players, managing, staff and sponsors at Grand Hotel Trento ok Wednesday evening, closed the 2016/17 season of Trentino Volley, the 17th season ever. In the next hours, a big part of the team will leave the city and return home for a deserved rest. Someone, however, will come to the field soon. This morning, Tine Urnaut has left for Slovenia, where in the weekend he’ll start training for the qualification round for the World Championship, that takes place in Lubiana at the end of the month. The player will confront Van de Voorde (at work since Wednesday) and the Belgian team too. Also Stokr leaves (for the Czech Republic), whereas Colaci, Giannelli and Lanza will have a holiday far from Trento before joining the National team on May 22nd. Daniele and Tiziano Mazzone, Nelli and Antonov will stay in Trento until the end of the week, waiting for being called by the National team. The middle hitter Solé will spend some days in Italy and will join his Argentinian team directly in Naples, to play the Vesuvio Cup scheduled between May 27th and 29th against Italy and Japan.
“Our season was amazing: we wanted to have always the smile and we managed to do it, especially thanks to our coach - stated the president Diego Mosna in the speech during the dinner - . The team fought hardly and in every competition, keeping high the name of Trentino. I want to thank all the players, the technical staff, the sponsors and the supporters for the wonderful month we’ve spent together. Despite losing some trophies, it was one of the best seasons of our history”.
“This was a group that kept the promises, and that’s not always easy - added Angelo Lorenzetti - . The players did their own best and I’d been welcomed in the best way possible and the technical staff made me feel at home. In the digital era, the era of the hashtags, I want to launch one too, to express what I think of this Club and of the supporters: #costruiamobattiti”.
