Knack ROESELARE (Belgium)
(town of the Flemish Province of West Fiandre)
In 2015 the team steps off the CEV Cup of the Champions League, to which in the previous season it qualified by winning the Belgium title for the eighth time in its history thanks to the success in the final of five games (3-2) over Antwerp (this too left the Champions at the CEV in this phase of the tournament). In this current year, it has already won the National Super Cup with the 3-1 always against the Antwerp that in fact is the main antagonist also in the present championship, with seven-point-advantage on the Knack after thirteen days.
Together with Maaseik (challenged by Trento in the Paalyoff 12, in the last Champions edition) is the Belgium historic volleyball reality; beyond the 8 championship, in its history there are also 8 Belgium Cups, 7 National Super Cups, and above all a victory in the Top Teams Cup (in 2002, beating the Espinho in the final). On the wall there are also two second places in CEV cup, at the back of respectively Treviso (1998) and Palermo (1999). The confrontation with the Trentino Volley in the CEV Cup Challenge Round will sign also the remake of the game that was already played in the 2010 Champions League edition, in which the Roeselare succeeded in eleven times in the last twelve editions: in February 2010, the two teams faced each other in the quarter final and in both cases to prevail with 3-1 it was the yellow-blue team (February 9 in the PalaTrento, the 17th in Belgium).
The trainer Emilie Rousseaux (taken from the Federal sector two seasons ago to substitute the historic trainer Bayens) has in its pool a couple of names that are already famous to the Trentino Fans; in the 4th place there is space, in fact, for Matthijs Verhanneman (hitter whose card was Trentino’s Volley propriety before passing to Ravenna and the Molfetta), that after the experience in Apulia in 2013 came back to wear the club shirt for which he played between 2006 and 2013. The other hammers are Tuerlinckx (against ex Perugia and mvp of the 2013 Belgium championship) and Rosseaux (in the tour of the national team like a free Claes) while in the leadership there is space for the Finnish Tervaportti.
