Trento, November 14th 2017
The team will play tomorrow evening, on Wednesday 15th November, the 7th turn match of SuperLega UnipolSai 2017/18 regular season. After ten days without any official match Diatec Trentino will be back on the field facing an away match on the league leader Sir Safety Conad Perugia’s field to permit to their opponents to contend for the double preliminary turn of CEV Championship League. The match starts at 8.30 p.m. at the PalaEvangelisti; it will be live on Radio Dolomiti and on Lega Volley Channel on the web site www.elevensports.it/superlega.
HERE DIATEC TRENTINO After an entire week of training without any official match, the yellow-blues show up on a field where they haven’t won for a little over three years –last succes on October 26th 2014 for 3-2- to try to alter the course of regular season during which they have seen only two victories and a total of seven points. “Training every day was one of the few solutions we had to react and we tried to do it at best during this last period” explained the trainer Angelo Lorenzetti.
Our squad has many talented players who must find again their self-confidence also through the daily trainings. On Wednesday we will play against a team like Perugia, which will probably highlight some of our current limits. We will play being aware of the fact that this match is very important for us but luckily not the last one of our season; in this occasion the coach will only have problems in choosing the regular players. The match in Perugia will be the 725th overall in Trentino Volley’s history, the 437th of all time in regular season and we will see the yellow-blue team seeking the 242nd outside victory.
THE OPPONENTS Sir Safety Conad Perugia waits for Diatec Trentino. At the PalaEvangelisti Perugia has won the last five matches against Diatec Trentino. The qualification in the group stage of 2018 CEV Champions League achieved with the double success against the Byelorussian of Soligorsk has indeed came in a good moment, when also arrived the first title of ever (the Supercoppa 2017, which was won on Lube’s field at the beginning of October) and the solitary record in the league thanks to the 3-points six victories. Lorenzo Bernardi’s team needs to move its own classification in order to confirm itself and probably they will obtain it with the quality of their service (it is the team which scores more aces per set) and with the excellent physical moment of some players. According to the weighted average the American hitter Russell is the third best striker of the tournament, the Serbian opposite Atanasijevic is the fifthaceman, whereas the former player Colaci (in the second official match against his old team with which he took part of 345 matches becoming a record-holder with Biratelli) has proved to be one of the bests of the category as to the reception and the defence. Besides, Perugia’s team keeps winning at PalaEvangelisti since the 5th of February and now it has collected nine consecutive victories.
PRECEDENTS Trento and Perugia have already had direct matches but seven of them have been played during the ongoing tropical year this is because both teams confronted each others during the Championship Play Off semi-finals where Diatec Trentino prevailed and during the late Supercoppa Italiana semi-finals in Civitanova (where Umbria won 3-1 on the 7th of October) that took place after the match of the 15th of January of the away game during the regular season. Throughout their other eight matches in Umbria the yellow-blue team won three times: once 3-0 (7th November 2012) and twice 3-2 (22nd December 2013 and 26th October 2014.) Nevertheless, in the last five matches Perugia got the upper hand: trice 3-1 and twice 3-0, as it happened the 19th of April. The Sir Safety association comes from Bastia Umbria and it moved to Perugia during its arrival at Men’s Serie A2 for this reason, it is not attributable to RPA-LugiBacchi.it partnership which played in the capital of Umbria from 2002 to 2010 and that won 12 matches out of 21 against Trento.
REFEREES The match will be directed by Stefano Cesare (from Rome, in Men’s Serie A since 1999) and Andrea Puecher (in the highest category since 2003). Both will take part in their forth match of this SuperLega UnipolSai 2017/18 season but this will be their first cooperation. Cesare’s last meeting with Trentino Volley was on the 7th of May 2017 (match in which Trento was defeated 1-3 at Civitanova) while Puecher’s last meeting with Trento was on the 15th of October (match in which Trento was defeated by Milan at PalaTrento).
RADIO, TV AND INTERNET The match will be broadcast in live by Radio Dolomiti, partner network of Trentino Volley, Stefano Piffer and Andrea Cobbe will be in charge of the commentary. The links with Umbria will be done by “Campioni di Sport”, the sport container of Missioni Africane street. The regional network’s frequencies can be found at www.trentinovolley.it, while the live streaming radio commentary will be on www.radiodolomiti.com.
The video live streaming will be available on “Lega Volley Channel” at www.elevensports.it/superlega; pay-service.
The full match will be broadcasted November Thursday 16th at 10.15 pm on RTTR, partner tv of the Society of Trener street, just after the magazine “RTTR Volley” and broadcasted again at midnight of the same day.
Finally, the Pallavolo League A Series (www.legavolley.it) and www.trentinovolley.it will be managing the online updates, moreover they will be always available on the yellow-blue Social Networks (www.trentinovolley.it/facebook and www.trentinovolley.it/twitter).
