The first round ended on Boxing day and now SuperLega UnipolSai2017/18 is ready for the second round, whose first match will be played on Saturday December 30th: it is the 14th match of the entire season. Diatec Trentino is starting the second phase of its regular season in PalaYamamay in Busto Arszio (Varese), where it will be play against the home team, Revivre Milano. The match is starting at 4:30pm and it will be live on Radio Dolomiti and on Lega Volley Channel on the web site www.elevensports.it/superlega.
HERE DIATEC TRENTINO After the sixth victory in a row in the championship, the yellow-blues are facing their fifth and last away match of the month (the 28th of the year 2017, that is about to end). They are willing to catch up after the defeat of the first round, so keeping rising in the ranking. The points that can be won are very important for the Play Offs, since Milano is just one position after Trento in the ranking.
“Revivre Milano is a team that can boast amazing services, and we descovered that first during the first match, when we lost 3-2 in the home field – said the coach Angelo Lorenzetti-. On that occasion we weren't able to understand the difficulties that that match hided, and the defeat obstructed our path. One round later we understand very well the features of our opponent, and we have to be ready to face them. Service will be very important, for sure, but we can't forget that our team has plenty of other qualities, as the recent successes can demonstrate. We must solve the expected situations of the game and be able not to suffer from a psychological point of view”.
Diatec Trentino, that already left to Lombardia region, will be training tonight in PalaYamamay, and all the players will be present in Busto Arsizio. So the coach will have plenty of choices for the starting six. On Saturday night Trentino Volley will be playing the 734th official match of its history, the 51st of 2017 and will look for the 510th victory ever. During the regular season of the Italian championship Trento has played 221 times and won in 61% of the occasions (135).
THE OPPONENTS The match won 3-0 in Latina on Boxing day has been a success that made Revivre Milano end the first round on seventh position, so entering, after two weeks of absence, in the play off zone. The team, trained by Andrea Giani, during the first thirteen days of championship has been one of the main surprises. They started with two great victories against Trento and Monza and ended the first round demonstrating that they can recuperate very well after the long absence of the setter Sbertoli (who injured his foot during the fourth match, in Perugia) and of the libero Fanuli, who came back as regular on December 26th. Even without the regular setter, Revivre won important matches, as the one against Padova, Vibo Valentia and Latina, also thanks to Abdel-Aziz, best marker of the tournament, and to Cebulj. Also Piano's blocks have been very important, as the turnover in the setter role of Daldello and Perez Rivera, who joined the shortlist in the end of November. One of the main strengths of the team from Milan is the service, for sure: 102 aces performed in 13 matches (more than two points per set on average). Revivre is the best team from the 9 meters line.
PREVIOUS Saturday the eighth chapter of the challenge between Trentino Volley and Power Volley Milan (Company born in 2013, the third consecutive season in the Italian league) will be written . Between the two clubs, therefore, the only official precedents are those referring to the regular season 2014/15, 2015/16, 2016/17 and the first match of the one in progress, won by 2-3 from the Lombards at PalaTrento on October 15th, with partials of 22-25, 25-20, 20-25, 25-19, 13-15 and Abdel-Aziz mvp (28 points). And 'that, among other things, the only statement that the meneghini can boast in the overall budget of the challenge, which saw the Diatec Trentino win the other six races and only grant another set (February 24, 2016 at PalaTrento). The match at the Revivre will be played for the second season in a row in Busto Arsizio: the only previous Trentino rider at PalaYamamay is on 5 February, while the other two were held respectively on 8 February 2015 at the Assago Forum and December 5, 2015 at PalaBorsani di Castellanza. In his previous fourteen seasons of top flight, Trentino Volley had already faced two other different Milanese teams: the Asystel, in six circumstances, between 2000 and 2003 and Sparkling, on two occasions, between 2007 and 2008. The calculation total that takes into account all the matches against Milanese teams is a slight advantage for Trento: nine victories against the six Lombard ones
THE REFEREES The meeting will be refereed by Roberto Boris (from Pavia, with a role since 1997 and internationally since 2010) and Mauro Goitre (from Turin - in role since 2008 and internationally since 2016). The two whistles are at the first joint race in SuperLega UnipolSai 2017/18, the eighth personal for Boris (who this season has already refereed Trento-Latina 3-2 of November 23) and the tenth for Goitre, who in this league has already refereed Diatec Trentino on the occasion of the 0-3 defeat at Civitanova Marche (November 1st).
RADIO, TV AND INTERNET The match will be broadcast in live chronicle by Radio Dolomiti, Trentino Volley's network partner. The connections with Busto Arsizio will be carried out within "Campioni di Sport", the sports container of the issuer of via Missioni Africane. The frequencies to listen to the regional network can be consulted on the home page www.trentinovolley.it, while on the website www.radiodolomiti.com it will also be possible to listen to the live streaming radio commentary.
Live video streaming is also planned on the "Lega Volley Channel" web space on the Internet at www.elevensports.it/superlega; the service is subject to charges.
On TV the full deferral of the race will be broadcast on Monday, January 1 at 21.50 on RTTR, TV partner of the Via Trener Company, immediately after the magazine "RTTR Volley".
