The first 3-0 victory in regular season of SuperLega Unipolsai 2017/18, obtained on Sunday evening at PalaBanca in Piacenza, allowed Diatec Trentino to keep on with their climb in ranking and, at the same time offered the group a new confidence boost towards a December full of appointments and away matches.
“We really needed such a victory and performance – commented Luca Vettori after the winning blitz in his “Emilia” - ; we’re coming from a period in which the results we achieved didn’t reflect at all our dedication and hard work. The trainings showed us that we were choosing the right path and I was convinced that we would have change our direction very soon; in the second part of the match versus Latina and in the whole match versus Wixo Lpr we managed to leave our fears and limits behind. From this point of view, Angelo Lorenzetti helped us a lot: he insisted about the importance of a decisive approach to the matches. It probably was our attitude itself, together with our effectiveness in the break phase, the best element showed at PalaBanca”.
“The victory in Piacenza and the positive energy we felt during all the match are factors which we should bring with us for all the incoming week, since on next Sunday a new important match is waiting for us – continued the opposite from Parma, best yellow-blue scorer with 165 points in 12 played matches - . Playing versus Modena will surely be something special to me, but at the same time I think it will be funny as well because there can be no denying in saying that these are the matches that everybody would like to play. I’m pretty sure that both the teams will enter the field at PalaTrento wanting to prove their superiority but also trying to give the spectators a big show, as the tradition of the match requires. There have never been an obvious A22 Derby and this one won’t be obvious as well. We will count on a good service phase, which in Piacenza has been managed in a different tactical way compared to the past and which benefited a lot from this change: the ace is not our main goal anymore, we work to better help our block phase”.
Diatec Trentino will start to prepare its 68th official match versus Modena, scheduled for Sunday December 3rd at 6 p.m., starting from Tuesday morning.
