The summer session of Trentino Volley’s market offers important news not only concerning the roster of players, but also regarding the technical staff. After the arrivals of Alessandro Guazzaloca (Athletic Trainer) and Alessandro Russo (physiotherapist), the yellow-blue Club has defined the positions of the first technical staff of Angelo Lorenzetti. Francesco Petrella will be the second trainer, while Roberto Ciamarra will be the Scoutman. Both come from an experience with Modena Volley, started with the trainer from the Marches.
Francesco Petrella is 28 years old and comes from Modena. In Trento he will live his third experience in SuperLega, after being third trainer and then second trainer during the last two championships with Modena, where he has been one of the main technical referents of the youth sector between 2012 and 2015.
The career of Roberto Ciamarra has been more articulated. He is thirty-five years old, comes from Umbria and will take care of the statistical revelations of the matches; this is an increasingly important task in the modern volleyball in order to analyse the situations in real time and to study the tactics. After beginning his career locally, scouting in Serie B for Cortona, Terni and Spoleto, from 2012 Roberto has arrived in Serie A with Città di Castello, gaining the confidence of Lorenzetti in Modena and Andrea Giani, who has chosen him in the Slovenian national team (being able to win the European silver medal in 2015) and in the German national team, with which he has been coopering in view of the European Championship 2017.
“I’m happy that they will arrive to Trento, because they have important relationship skills with the staff and with the team and they can listen – explained the trainer Angelo Lorenzetti -. Francesco Petrella has grown a lot in the last two seasons in Modena. He knows where, how and when he has to study the volleyball, these are qualities that I like and that will soon give him the possibility to be a first trainer. Ciamarra has done a great job during the two years in Emilia; I like how he interprets this role and the fact that he is always at the disposal of all the athletes. He is curious and always looks for changings.”
