Report of the match. Diatec Trentino lines up with Hoag, Lanza, Giannelli as setter, Zingel and Eder middle-blockers, Vettori opposite and De Pandis libero. For Calzedonia Verona Spirito is the setter, opposite to Stern, Jaeschke and Maar the two wing spikers, Birarelli and Pajenk middle-blockers, Pesaresi libero. The match begins with balance (5-7) with Stern and Hoag scoring the first breaks (11-8); Grbic calls a time out to clarify some tactics and Verona strikes back (13-13) with Jaeschke’s serves and Stern attackin. Verona digs a big gap (+5, 13-18) with two aces by Stern while Trento struggles with defense, sideout and to find continuity; Lorenzetti runs out of time out calls and decides to substitute Hoag with Kovacevic. On 16-19 and 19-21 a shy comeback from Trento is brutally stopped by Jaeschke and his attacks (21-25).
In the second set Diatec Trentino tries to take the lead with Kovacevic and Eder serving and attacking (6-4, 10-8). But like in the first one, Verona holds on tight (12-12) and thanks to Jaeschke and his serves (16-18) heads towards the 25 points goal (20-23, 21-25).
Lorenzetti confirms Teppan for Vettori (out in the second set) and swaps the two spikers trying to fluidify the sideout phase, which actually does. Trento increases the pace with Kovacevic  (8-6, 10-7) and leads the game by +5, later +6 after a block on Stern (16-10). Calzedonia gets nervous and makes many mistakes at the serve (20-14) allowing Trento to win the set.
During fourth set the two teams fight each other closely until 11-11: a mistake from Zingel and a block on Lanza by Spirito creates the first break (11-14). Lorenzetti calls time out to pause the game, but the trend is set and Maar stings from the nine meters line (12-17, 12-19). Teppan has a last burst of pride (14-19) before Trento surrenders to Verona (22-25) after a mistake by Kovacevic.
