Simone Giannelli under the net with Matthew Anderson e Wilfredo Leon during the 2016 CEV Champions League Final

Trento, 28th November 2017

The countdown for the return of Trentino Volley in CEV Champions League is almost over. In a week the match in the Belgian field of Noliko Maaseik (on Thursday December 5th at 8:30pm) will coincide with the comeback of Trentino Volley in the most important continental tournament in which a Club can participate. Last time Trentino Voley played in it was 590 days ago, in the occasion of the match played on April 17th 2016 (a final played in Krakow in which they lost in the tie-break against Kazan).
CEV Champions League’s book of memories is full of such wonderful pages: the first is the night of April 5th 2009 in Prague, when yellow-blues played versus Iraklis Thessaloniki and won with a 3-1, achieving the title after overcoming Macerata in the semifinals and finishing the tournament with 12 victories out to 12 matches; the second is the victory over Dinamo Mosca at Atlas Arena of Lodz on March 2nd 2010 while the third one, which is definitely unforgettable, is the 3-1 over Kazan in the semifinals played at PalaOnda in Bolzano on March 27th 2011. It was none other than the last final of the tournament played in Alto Adige before the one played in Poland a year and a half ago.
