Tomorrow night, Thursday November 23rd, Trentino Volley will play the eighth match of 2017/18 SuperLega UnipolSai against Taiwan Excellence Latina. Eighteen days after the last home match, teams will take the court at 8:30pm in PalaTrento, with live broadcast on RAI Sport + HD and Radio Dolomiti.
HERE DIATEC TRENTINO Yellow-blues will try to turn the page and win after three defeats against Civitanova, Verona and Perugia; last victory dates back to October 23rd (3-1 on Castellana Grotte). Having had the chance to train for a week without official matches, the team worked hard and welcomed back Uros Kovacevic, who has trained regularly the last three days, after he suffered a minor injury to his back shortly before the beginning of the match against Sir Safety Conad.
“We are approaching this match after an important week of training, during which we focused on tactics and technique as well as mental and match attitude - explain Diatec Trentino coach Angelo Lorenzetti introducing the match-. All the players worked hard as we had resolved: the best way to prepare the challenge against a team which proved its worth in this first part of this tournament. We are going to face an expert opponent, with great individualities and great harmony in their game, especially in the side out phase”.
Coach Lorenzetti will decide the starting six at the last minute, after checking the players in the last two training sessions of tonight and Thursday morning.
Trentino Volley will dispute the 726th official match of its history (502 wins and 223 defeats), number eleven of the current season and hunting for the eighteenth victory of 2017. So far, the team played 437 matches of regular season, having won 301 (169 in PalaTrento).
THE OPPONENT Taiwan Excellence Latina arrives in PalaTrento with equal victories (two in seven matches) but one more point and one more position in the ranking. In the beginning of the season Latina has had some positive results (home win in three sets against Italian Champion Civitanova) but also regrets for missed opportunities against Verona, Vibo and Piacenza, direct opponents in the run for the Playoffs. With the return of Starovic in the team and the new entries of spiker Savani (former Trentino Volley player 2004-2006), USA libero Shoji (best receiver of the league) and middle blocker Le Goff, the team improved under the guidance of coach Vincenzo di Pinto. Only Ishikawa will be unavailable, while libero Carlo De Angelis, last year at Trento, will start from the bench and is often used as fourth spiker.
PRECEDENTS Latina and Trentino Volley already faced each other 34 times in official matches, with Trento ahead with 26 wins and 8 defeats; in PalaTrento Trento won fourteen of the last seventeen matches, with the last defeat dates back to April 2014. The more frequent result is 3-0 for Trento, same result of the last time the two teams were across the net.
REFEREES The match will be directed by Umberto Zanussi (from Treviso, in top league since 2006) and Roberto Boris (from Pavia, since 1997 in Serie A, international referee since 2010). For the second time this season the two referees will work together.
TV, RADIO AND INTERNET The match will attract a global audience, with live broadcast on tv, radio and internet. RAI Sport + HD (channel 57 in HD) will live stream with the commentary of Marco Fantasia and Claudio Galli, as well as online at www.raisport.rai.it/dl/raisport/multimedia/diretta.html; other live broadcasts will stream the match worldwide (twenty six countries) thanks to Band Sports, Sportsklub, Sportsklub Poland, Dowaly/Kuwait Sport, Sportmax Caraibi, Telesports, Ote, Saran e Img.
As usual Radio Dolomiti, official radio partner of Trentino Volley, will cover the whole match starting at 8:25 pm with Stefano Piffer and Andrea Cobbe. On the homepage of Trentino Volley www.trentinovolley.it there the frequencies, and on www.radiodolomiti.com a link will allow fans to listen to the live stream. On RTTR, tv partner of Trentino Volley, the replay of the match will go on air on Saturday November 25th at 9:30pm.

Tickets will be available in PalaTrento until 7:30 pm. Counters will be open until the end of the second set, when PalaTrento doors will close.
