24 points and 67% in offence for Pippo Lanza

The derby of the Adige promotes Diatec Trentino Champion of Italy, placing it alone in the third place of the standings in 2015/16 Super League UnipolSai. With a test full of determination and sacrifice the Italian champions have in fact imposed a halt at Calzedonia Verona for 3-2 in a match that was really worthy, also to reach the best possible position of the quarter-finals’ grid of the Italian Cup (which will be defined on Sunday, at the end of the first round).
The success of two points allows Stoytchev team, which didn’t appear in the best way but still strong, to outdistance a point to Verona and Perugia (which won 3-0 against Piacenza) and to look more confidently at the big home match next Sunday against Lube, which will serve another proof of pride to preserve the hard victory of today. To the challenge against Lube, the Yellow-blues will arrive bringing with them many indications emerging from more than two hours of play on the ground of Verona: despite playing discontinuous in many fundamental, Lanza and teammates have shown that they remain constantly attached to the match, to have strong nerves (those that are useful to cancel three match balls in the fourth set at 2-1 before winning the middle sets) and to finally be able to count on all of their squad. To win the challenge against Verona (that appeared more on the ball in the middle sets) were in fact needed the 24 points of a revived Lanza (eventually mvp and prophet at home, being originally from Verona, with 67% in attack), but even the constant presence of Urnaut in all the fundamentals, the class of Djuric (23 points also tonight) and the blocks of Daniele Mazzone, who once again Stoytchev has thrown into the fray in the hardest moments, being rewarded with two important blocks. Honor also to Verona tough, which has been able to greatly play with the fake opposite Lecat and to get one step away from the victory for 3-1, denied from the usual big heart of the Italian champions.
