This afternoon, CONI President Mr. Giovanni Malagò, after his visits to Trento and Rovereto, has been in close contact with Trentino Volley and has congratulated the team on their national and international performance over the last years.
The number one candidate for Italian sport in Rovereto took part in the workshop titled “Sport, how to turn passion into work” and held at Trentino Sviluppo in via Zeni. The workshop has been organized by the ATS GOAL – Giovani Oggi al Lavoro (youth at work today), following a long chat with Riccardo Michieletto (“I am pleased that after his sports career, Riccardo decided to go on working in the world of sports even though he holds a degree in Engineering this would have allowed him to make different choices: we need managers like him who has a long experience in the field” said Malagò referring to the blue and yellow Team Manager) and Simone Giannelli.
“I saw that you beat the derby of Adige region against Verona and are second in the rankings with only a gap of two points from the highest position, so many congratulations on what you are doing” he added at the end of the workshop where sports and school were largely addressed. Soon after the workshop, Malagò went to the theatre Sanbapolis in Trento to reward the managers, coaches and athletes that have particularly stood out for their results and commitment in previous seasons. Waiting for him at the student residence of the city there was also the President Diego Mosna and the General Manager Bruno Da Re that were greeted warmly by Malagò with these important words: “I have no doubt that the great adventure of volleyball in Trentino will go on for a long time both at national and international level thanks to the President’s commitment” he stated before personally rewarding the middle Matteo Burgsthaler with the bronze medal of Sporting Merit for the victory of Scudetto 2013 won with the t-shirt of his City team.
In an interview given to RAI Regionale, Malagò said: “Trentino Volley, as well as Aquila Basket, is a particular model as it combines good sports management with correct economic management, descending from a strong managerial culture. It is a virtuous model that can not be isolated and that it also promotes the esteem of Italian athletes: in many sports there is not always the need to fish abroad.”
