2018 World Championship, the second phase to start

The second phase of the 2018 World Championship starts on Friday 21st of September, during this time the eight players of Trentino Volley will still be playing with their respective National teams. The four rounds, which are composed of four teams, will assign six places for the third phase and will develop throughout the weekend in the structures in Milan, Bologna, Varna and Sofia: the first team classified in each pool and the two best seconds will pass to the next round but the future points and the victories will be added to the ones obtained in the first phase. The team with Candellaro, Giannelli and Nelli has therefore the best requirements possible to try and pass this round, having closed the previous formation with a perfect score; in the Pool E, that will be held at the Forum di Assago (Milan), the Italian team will face Finland, Russia and The Netherlands with Maarten Van Garderen that will have to win all of the three matches hoping to qualify. The derby between the four players of Itas Trento is scheduled for Sunday at 9.15 p.m. but it’s not the only match that will put these athletes against each other. In the Pool H, that will be held in Varna, on Friday at 5 p.m. there’ll already be room for the challenge between the Serbians Kovacevic and Lisinac and the French Grebennikov, included in the same round as Poland and Argentina. While allocated in the formation F, the USA with Aaron Russell that will play against Bulgaria, Iran and Canada in Sofia starting with more victories (5) and points (13) than the other three rivals.
