Podrascanin at "RTTR Volley": "The growing path continues, now let’s think about Berlin"

The middle-blocker of Itas Trentino, Marko Podrascanin, was the main character of the weekly appointment of “RTTR Volley”, the transmission that the yellow-blue media partner RTTR airs and dedicates to Trentino Volley every Monday. Below some of the most interesting moments of the long interview made by Sara Ravanelli.

COPPA ITALIA. “The weekend in Bologna was a good one, we could have obtained a better result, especially if we consider the almost perfect match we played on Saturday against Milan. It’s a pity how the final started with Perugia, but then we managed to recover and in the end we had only one point left to take the match to the advantages in the fourth set. Apart from the result, it was awesome being able to see once again so many supporters in the gallery, especially if we consider how much we missed them in the last two season and in the semifinal, always against Perugia, of the previous edition.”

GROWING. “At the beginning of the season we would have signed to get to this level of play and to play the first two Italian finals of the season. We are growing a lot both as team and as quality of play. Day after day the team keeps moving forward. Defeats are unpleasant for us all, it would have been beautiful to realize a surprise, we believed in it till the end".

STRENGTH AND WEAKNESS. “One of the best features in this Itas Trentino is certainly the possibility to catch the opponent’s service with four players, something that allows us to be more trustworthy in the second line. I believe instead that we can and must grow in the approach to the match, because sometimes it happens that we are too tense at the beginning, but we will have other important matches where we can show our improvement even from this point of view”.

BLOCKING, WHAT A PASSION. “Between put on the ground a ball with an attack or with a block I choose always the second option, because I believe that doing well in this fundamental gives a bigger emotional boost and a different energy to the team. From this point of view, experience helps me, something that makes the difference in important moments. From this point of view, Leon is the most difficult one to stop, because it has a great variety of shots”.

THE SEASON CONTINUES. “Our path continues and we are already concentrated on the next goals. In Coppa Italia we have certainly learnt something form the lesson give us by Perugia in the Final, however we have to be happy and consider ourselves lucky to have been able to arrive to the end of the event".

BERLIN. “In Champions League the fight with Berlin is renewed in the quarter final, with the only difference that this time we will play the first round at home and not the second one. This situation makes our task even more challenging, even because the German formation has further improved and is showing to be even more competitive in this season. We need a good victory at BLM Group Arena so as to face the second round of next week in Germany with serenity".

REFERENCE POINT. “When I started playing with my model, this was inspired by my compatriot Andrika Geric. The middle-blocker that I use as reference point is Simon at the moment, the best in this role for years.”
