Cavuto to RTTR Volley: "Me, Trento and the national team..."

The yellow-blue hitter spiker Oreste Cavuto was the guest of the third seasonal episode of “RTTR Volley”, a programme that the media partner RTTR broadcasts and dedicates to Trentino Volley each Monday. Here are some of the most interesting moments of the interview, conducted by Sara Ravanelli.
 
ROLE AND CHOICES. “I’m aware of the role I play in this group and the one of the team itself; I know that joining while the work is in progress is not always easy, especially in a negative-score situation, but I like it, I accepted the proposal and I try and do my best and, in particular, I try to make my presence felt by my teammates, without losing the moment. The aim is to try and give confidence and energy; if you are benched, you suffer, even more if you feel close to this Club like I do. One of my tasks is to make new members understand what Trentino Volley is and its style. During the summer I could have changed scenery and chose to play as a starter somewhere else, but I know that in no other reality would I feel as I do here in Trent, where I’m more than fine, also because I grew up with this society and it has brought me to high levels. For me, wearing this jersey, gets me every time”.

NATIONAL TEAM. “Italy’s world title feels somewhat mine, because I have been working with the group, which had been World Champion during the whole summer and I spent some great moments with each of them. I supported them from home and I am very happy for the big victory in Poland. I work out in the gym every day to do my best for Trentino Volley, but also to deserve a new convocation, because for me, it is impossible to decline it or to give up without trying on the Italian National Championship”.

TOWARDS TRENTO-LUBE. “We are in an emergency situation, because setter Sbertoli is missing, and we have two difficult matches in a few days ahead of us. The first one against Cucine Lube will be challenging, but motivating at the same time, also because of the fact that we will be in contact with our public again, which we have not been seeing for more than two weeks. As always, we will do our best, also by taking advantage of the game’s hints and rhythm we received this Sunday in Piacenza. Our team has solid fundaments and will not waver even at this moment”.
