SuperLega, Itas Trentino spectacular against Verona in its 1,000th match in history

The 1,000th game in its history was a convincing and valuable win for Itas Trentino. On Sunday evening the Italian champions collected all the possible points on Verona’s court in the traditional Adige derby, now in its 45th official edition. The 3-0 success allows Soli's team to preserve its unbeaten streak in the league, celebrate in the best way possible the important milestone and immediately turn the page from last Tuesday's setback in Biella in the Supercoppa semi-final against Perugia.
Unlike the previous performances, this time the yellow-blue team showed more continuity in its action; victory number 694 was earned with a sumptuous performance, in which Soli's boys were able to contain the initial verve of the hosts and then take the reins of the match, ramping up the scoring in the second half of each set. The great protagonist of the match was setter Riccardo Sbertoli, excellent in dosing all his attackers but extraordinary also in the serve, as his 5 aces in 20 serves partly show. Other than the MVP of the match, also to be noted are the effective performance of Michieletto (15 points with 56% in attack and 5 winning blocks) and the usual great contribution offered by the pair of Kozamernik and Podrascanin: unstappable in the first half, lucid in the blocks (fundamental that went to the mark 13 times in three sets). Verona found itself unprepared facing such a compact effort and conceded defeat to its opponents in just under 80 minutes.

Below is the scoreboard of the match (third round of the regular season of SuperLega Credem Banca 2023/24) played Sunday evening at the AGSM Aim Forum in Verona.
