Most European national teams will officially begin their summer season 2017 on Wednesday 24th May. During the next five days the teams will play the second round of the qualifications to the World Championship 2018, which is scheduled from 10th to 30th September in Italy and Bulgaria. As organizing country, the Italian national team is already qualified, but other thirty-six teams will have to play the qualifying rounds.
The Slovenia national team of the new middle blocker of Trentino Volley Jan Kozamernik will play in the pool C in Ljubljana against Georgia (on Wednesday), Latvia (on Thursday), Portugal (on Friday), Israel (on Saturday) and the Belgian national team of Van de Voorde (on Sunday); all this matches will begin at 5.30 pm.
Only the team that will come first in its pool will get the qualification to the World Championship 2018, while the second placed teams will have to play the third phase (scheduled between 15th and 20th August) against the other teams that will come second in the five pools; this phase will see only the winning team qualified to the World Championship.
