Trento, June 4th 2017

The first weekend of the Intercontinental Round of the World League 2017 was full with emotions for the six players of Trentino Volley who played in this occasion. The balance sheet shows six victories in nine matches, but the en plain couldn’t be guaranteed due to the direct match between Italy (with Antonov, Giannelli, Lanza and Vettori) and Brazil (with Eder), played on Sunday afternoon in Pesaro. The derby was positive for the Brazilian team, that won 1-3. The new middle hitter of Trento played all the match in the Brazilian team (like in the match against Iran of the previous day). The best news, also for Trentino Volley, was the efficiency of the couple Giannelli-Vettori and the great role of Lanza and Antonov. Also the Slovenian team  (with Kozamernik) had a positive debut and won all the three matches in Seul. The middle hitter of Trentino Volley played one match and a half, with a great performance with the block. Next weekend Italy will play in Pau (France) and confront the home team, the USA and Russia. The Brazilian team will play in Varna against the Bulgaria, Canada and Poland, while the Slovenian team will play in Takasaki against Japan, Korea and Turkey.
