12 punti with 44% in offence for Jan Stokr
ph. Trabalza
Trento, October 2nd 2016
For his first official match at PalaTrento, Angelo Lorenzetti relies on a very similar formation to the one seen several times last season on the field; the only change is the presence in the opposite role of Stokr, returning to play in the Italian League three years later; the other players on the field are: Giannelli as setter, Lanza and Urnaut as spikers, Solé and Daniele Mazzone as middle-blockers and Colaci as libero.
Waldo Kantor, new coach of Vibo Valentia, responds with: Coscione as setter, Michalovic as opposite, Thiago Alves and Gelier as spikers, Barone and Costa in the center and Marra as libero.
In the opening race, Diatec Trentino tries to raise its voice with Lanza (3-0) but Michailovic proves to be already in game and in few minutes gets the score to 5-6. The yellow-blues don’t give up and get to 12-10 with Urnaut, forcing Kantor to interrupt the game. When the match restarts, Giannelli and Mazzone take Diatec Trentino +4 (14-10), then Lanza blocks the Slovak opposite and gets the maximum advantage (16-11). Geiler and Michailovic are however still strong and, almost alone, mend the breach (17-15, time out for Lorenzetti) wich is totally mended with an attack error of Solé that gets both the teams at 18-18. The finish is then in the sprint: both teams go to the advantages, won by the home team with Antonov (26-24).
Very balanced is also the initial part of the second set, with the two team alternating the leading until the 9-9, showing a good regularity in the side out phase. Giannelli is also active in attack (12-10) and Stokr definitely enters in game scoring the 14-11.
The great advantage isn’t this team affected (18-15), because Diatec Trentino is more careful in receiving and Urnaut strikes very well (20-15). The 2-0 arrives very quickly (23-20 and 25-21) with an attack from Tine himself.
In the third set grows Trento intensity between block and defense and the home team have great opportunities to set the ball very well; this way the yellow-blues become masters of the scene (5-1 and 10-5) with Stokr and Lanza striking again and again. Even Daniele Mazzone demonstrates to deserve the trust put in him by Lorenzetti and, almost alone, scores the +7 point (14-7). Vibo, however, still shows force of will and pride, goes back to 16-13 and then 18-16 (ace of Barreto, who replaced Gelier), but then has to raise its head definitively when Solé unleashes all his power at the center of the net and when the opposite Rejek (who replaced Michailovic for the third set) begins to make mistakes too (23-18): 25-22 and the final 3-0 with a block from Daniele Mazzone.
