Perugia wins Supercoppa 2019 semi-final: Itas Trentino fight but gives up at 3-1

Eurosuole Forum is not a lucky field for Itas Trentino even during a match against a team different from Cucine Lube Civitanova. The semi-final of Del Monte® Supercoppa 2019, played tonight by the World Champions against Sir Safety Conad Perugia, saw the opponents win after almost two hours of battle. Sir Safety Conad Perugia has thus gained access to the match that will give the title of Champion on Saturday night. 
The Itas Trentino race towards the first possible seasonal goal had to stop at the first act. It ended a step away from what could have been the thirty-fifth final of the yellow-blue story, the eighth in this single competition.
Trento, however, had started the game on the right foot, fighting against the opponent with a good break point phase in an arena that the yellow-blue team does not like (thirteen defeats in thirteen games played from 2015 onwards). One point ahead (1-0), the World Champions have however had to suffer the reaction of the Umbrians, with the services of Leon (5 ace) and the attacks of Atanasijevic, who, in the end, was the best scorer with 20 points and 51% on net. The yellow-blue team struggled until the end, trying to perform a come back in the fourth set (from 12-18 to 22-24). The eighteen points by Vettori (with 55% in attack, one ace and one block), the sixteen points by Russell (three blocks and one ace) and the twenty-sevens by the Serbian couple Kovacevic-Lisinac are worth mentioning.
