Tours (France), December 15th, 2015
The 2016 DenizBank CEV Volleyball Champions League will be played between today, tomorrow and Thursday, the last turn of the year 2015. Tomorrow evening, on Wednesday, December 16th, in France will stage the fourth day of the League Round of the most important continental event for clubs, the second external for the Yellow-blues, that will challenge the French of Tours Vb in new match at the top of Pool C. The kick-off is scheduled at 8.30 pm, broadcasted live on Fox Sports Tv, Radio Dolomiti and streamed live on the site www.laola1.tv.
HERE TRENTINO DIATEC After five important consecutive victories, which have raised the ambitions of ranking both nationally and in Europe, the Italian champions are facing the French trip with the goal to replicate the success of the first leg match also at the home of Tours to lock up the first place in Pool C and look more confidently to the two tournament matches in January.
"Who believes that the 3-0 obtained in early December against the French team represents the real power relationship existing between the two teams, however, is wrong” - says the second coach Dario Simoni -. “That match was very special for Tours, I’m sure that tomorrow evening in front of their audience, everything will be more difficult and our opponents will have a considerable motivation as well as technical and tactical from the change of the coach. From our side we did not have time and opportunity to enjoy the beautiful Sunday's victory over Lube but the environment and above all the team is used to this kind of pace: we are already focused on this appointment which represents a key step of our first phase".
The entire Yellow-blues squad reached its destination already on Monday evening, and today evening will train in a ninety minutes session at the gaming facility, the Salle Robert Grenon, to find the first reference points in a very friendly but definitely collected architecture. The training will also be useful to dissolve the last doubts related to the lineup to choose for the field, with Stoytchev (former in France for having played in Tours between 2000 and 2001) that will have to decide whether to confirm Daniele Mazzone at the net or whether to offer new confidence to Simon Van de Voorde.
The other former, Oleg Antonov, should start on the bench; with the jersey of the transalpine Company he played the previous season helping to center the treble (League, Cup and National Super Cup).
PREVIOUSLY The one of tomorrow will be the fourth absolute comparison between the two companies; the previous three were all related to games played in the CEV Champions League and curiously always in Pool C (both in 2013 edition of the tournament and in the current one). The budget is exclusively in favour of Trentino Volley, which won all the matches for 3-0: with partial of 25-19, 25-16, 25-23 on November 1st, 2012 in the only match played already in Tours, with scores of 25-23, 25-21, 25-16 on December 5th, 2012 at PalaTrento and finally to 25-10, 25-20, 26-24 on December 2nd, in the last first leg match. Against French teams, Trentino Volley can boast only positive previous, considering the two statements obtained at Beauvais in the 2009 (the one of the debut, then won at the Final Four in Prague).
REFEREES The contest will be conducted by the Serbian Goran Gradinski, first referee from Belgrade, and Martin Hudik of Chotebor (Czech Republic). Both whistles have already directed Trentino Volley previously, curiously always refer to the first participation in the Champions League (2008/09): Grandinski refereed Trento vs. Vienna for 3-0 on December 10th, 2008, while Hudik was involved in Trento vs. Iraklis for 3-1 on April 5th, in Prague and then later also in Belgorod vs. Trent for 3-0, on February 5th, 2014 (first leg of the Playoffs 6).
