VNL 2019, Grebennikov joins Russell in Final Six. Wonderful Cavuto (17 points) vs Brazil

The fifth and last weekend of Preliminary Round of Volleyball Nations League 2019 gives the qualification to the Final Six of the championship (10th-14th July in Chicago, USA) to two players of Trentino Volley. The French libero Jenia Grebennikov and the American spiker Aaron Russell (already admitted with the American National team, that organizes the event) will represent Itas Trentino in the final phase of the annual world championship. The weekend that just came to an end has instead seen the remaining hopes of qualification of the Italian National team with Cavuto, that lost all the three scheduled matches in Brasilia and has therefore left the remaining hopes of passing the round, leaving a clear path for the French National team with Grebennikov ( who won 3-1 the Itas Trentino’s derby on Saturday evening against Oreste). Without Giannelli and Candellaro, that weren’t called for the weekend matches, the Italian National team didn’t win and Cavuto didn’t find a lot of space on court in the first two matches but became the key player in the match against Brazil – ended as best Italian scorer with seventeen points.
Two defeats in three matches for the Serbian National team with Lisinac, that wasn’t able to improve its position in the final ranking in Plovdiv, winning only against the hosts. Also Brazil, Iran, Russia and Poland qualified for the Final Six.

Below, the statistic of the three players of Trentino Volley playing during the fifth weekend of Volleyball Nations League 2019.
