Sbertoli, Moretto and Zorzi discuss about volley’s future for “La Rete che unisce”

Gaia Moretto, Riccardo Sbertoli and Andrea Zorzi discuss about the project “La Rete che unisce”; this evening, the media companies behind Trentino Volleyball were able to meet and interact with two protagonists of the great season (men's and women's) of Trentino Volleyball, whose public conversation was encouraged by the legendary player symbol of the Generazione dei Fenomeni, now a popular journalist and event moderator.
This appointment, organized by the yellow-blue club at the Sala Nones of Palazzo Benvenuti in Trento, allowed the many sponsors' representatives in attendance to both listen to and dialogue with three exceptional speakers, but also to further intensify the relationship with the club and between the individual companies themselves.
Throughout the over ninety minutes of the event, they spoke about the Italian Volleyball all-round, about this sport's potential to equally attract and value both the female and male genders, and the comparison with the glorious past of this sport, which has seen at different times the same Zorzi and Sbertoli become World and European Champions in the blue jersey.
“One of the most interesting aspects of this new experience with Trentino Volley is just seeing how the two top teams run on parallel paths in terms of importance – highlighted Moretto - ; here there is a very strong idea of union and common goals between men's and women's teams. In Trento, the club makes us feel protected and is able to keep any pressure outside; we realised this at the start of our championship when we suffered a few setbacks in a row'.”
"The beauty of our sport is in seeing how, although starting from a common point, the game has developed differently in the two sectors and has specific features and peculiarities that make it a spectacular sport for both men and women,' explained Sbertoli -. I would find it hard to find my own fit if I were thrown into a women's team training session. By studying the matches in our league, I realised how volleyball is moving towards very specific characteristics: nowadays, for example, whoever plays as opposite must be complete and no longer know how to only attack the high ball. The game has become much more physical, technical and fast-paced, and each member must be able to perform any fundamental to the fullest".
“I have often commented on women's and men's matches on TV, - added Zorzi - and I have always had the impression that I can read the situations in men's volleyball better than in women's volleyball, which remains much more unpredictable or perhaps simply less definable for me”.
These were some thoughts from the three protagonists during the evening, which ended with a nice toast.
